New Year – New Headshot! It’s About time (Only been four years since I have updated my headshot!!). I’ve been so busy with our clients, sometimes this stuff slips through the cracks. Luckily, the winter off season gives me a chance to get those bits here and there taken care of 🙂
Meet Wren + Jeff, one of our awesome 2014 couples! We had the pleasure of shooting their Engagement Session in one of our favorite spots, the always beautiful outdoor scenic location of Anne Springs Close Greenway (acres and acres of sprawling forests, trails, fields, even a lake- what more could these photographers ask for??). The lovebirds opted to bring their well-mannered pooch, who oh-so patiently held up their Engagement sign (create by our clever Bride-to-be Wren) for some awesome Save-the-Date shots of the couple. We can’t wait to shoot their Wedding in 2014!

We are happy to start blogging again this year! Although we won’t be able to be able to blog everyone’s wedding and photo session, we are pleased to be able to choose a few to feature for you all to enjoy! Check out Jessica and John’s rustic, whimsical wedding – perfectly designed and tailored for this beautiful outdoor setting at the Tuttle Educational State Forest in Lenoir, North Carolina. This bride and groom couldn’t have hoped for better weather- the sunny, breezy skies were a beautiful ambiance for an equally beautiful ceremony and reception. There were so many sweet details for us to capture, everything from hand painted signs to hanging outdoor “chandeliers” to a beautiful, natural branch archway that the couple was wed under. It was such a treat to capture this wonderful day – thank you Jessica and John for including us!

It is always so exciting to finally get to share the Bride’s beautiful pre-wedding portraits after the Wedding has taken place! We took these of Lakyn in June, shortly before her lovely July Wedding. We used the setting from Alyssa & Brad’s Wedding (the Field Barn at Anne Springs Close Greenway), as well as a vintage boudoir chair I picked up on Craigslist. The ambiance was perfect for the sweet, modern, with a touch-of-rustic Bride! Lakyn was so gorgeous and perfect to photograph- she could easily be a model. We will have a blog coming soon of Lakyn & Keith’s beautiful Wedding Day!
Nancy and Shawn are: getting married in November, my neighbors across the street (we only found this out after we met for their consultation!), and totally AWESOME! We had a blast doing this E Session in the NoDa district of Charlotte- the fun, artsy vibe of the area played perfectly with Nancy’s style and personality. The Salud Beer Shop (if you are in NoDa- check them out! I was drooling a little bit over their amazing selection of beer and imports!) was totally cool with us not only shooting in their shop, but setting up our lights, etc as well (you guys rock!). My husband was along to assist (aka carry my loads of equipment around :P), and he and Shawn insisted on pausing for a bit of a taste testing :). We finished the sesh by the Neighborhood Theater, which to my disappointment was not screening what I was pretty sure would be the best movie ever, but instead hosting a concert by Trampled By Turtles (I’m sure they were great to see as well). Congrats to Nancy & Shawn on their engagement! We are definitely looking forward to shooting your Big Day in November!
Fati and I are working on some fun & inspired photoshoots…. she’s building her modeling portfolio and I am killing time waiting for wedding season to kick in again :). On the other hand I love doing fashion inspired photography, and working with the most dynamic model I have ever met. I think we are both contemplating really breaking into the fashion industry.
Love my girl Corrie- for those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of her accompanying me to your wedding, she is my #1 second shooter and soon to be an even bigger part of Elle Imaging (no spoilers!). We shot her maternity session on a ridiculously warm and beautiful January afternoon- is it seriously winter down here? Styling was all by Corrie, which couldn’t have been more perfect. I can’t wait to meet little baby H!
